It is an adaptation of Don Quixote‘s tale, El retablo de Maese Pedro, presented as a crossover performance through “Taiwanese Opera-style Puppetry” to interpret the characters’ spirit and storyline.
It takes the form of an operetta and the drama in the drama, exploring contemporary social issues in Taiwan while showcasing the innovative conflicts and challenges traditional opera faces in modern development.
